Brilliant ideas

After this year's hard work on the 2007-08 projects (the Contest and on our little blogs, where we have the pleasure to read your words), we wondered if we should start this thread to collect brilliant ideas of things we can do together, in case... there are any! They can be big or small, don't be shy! Ideas move the world!
Happy spring!

Thanks for this lovely bunch of flowers and a very good idea. Please send any ideas and if possible we´ll try to carry them out

Anónimo dijo...

Waow! you sure have very nice taste to select flowers. these are creamy. Thanks, Michelle.
Very good idea... now we´ll see if we have any. All ideas are good provided there are people who want to cary them out i.e. when you go to a dinner party you have fun not because someone important, famous, clever is there, but because there are those who trie to make it fun and are enthusiastic about it. We have many enthusiastic people surrounding us. We have some creative people and we have some fun people. We are a good team!!!..
Now back to reality: let´s see if we get something done!

These flowers are a joy to behold. The make you feel so relaxed that comforting, positive thoughts come into your mind.Hopefully, they will make people come up with interesting ideas.
Thanks a lot, Michelle.

(Blushed face!!!) :) Wow, thanks for your comments, beautiful colleagues! (Blushed face!!!) I have to say I've been GREATLY inspired by YOUR work, that it's been a PLEASURE working with you, in our adorable Marx Brothers Cabin (check the scene out, it's hilarious! http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=5VQpQlxjLvE )! hahahah, and that thanks to this project with you I've learned to design blogs and many other things!!! :)
Now that we're reaching the end of our lovely trip, I'd like to mention how exciting it's been to link such interesting things as LITERATURE, CRITICAL THINKING, and LANGUAGE LEARNING, and how amazing it's been to have a space for teachers and students to get together and discuss and share things. I do hope that more people/schools get inspired by this work and that we all can develop more projects in the future! :) This year's project was a brilliant idea and it's been brilliant how much we've all achieved with people's participation and in spite of a severe lack of resources! Incidentally...
A Brilliant Idea was what GOOGLE had when the team created the most amazing search engine. It's been brilliant that everybody has access to these resources. The Internet is also amazing because here you can find tons of people who are willing to share their knowledge, skills and resources with others (FREE FOR ALL!), so I'd like to mention that without all the beautiful people in cyberspace, who are doing all this, we wouldn't have been able to do all this Internet work. Thank you Blogger! Thanks, YouTube! and thank you to all the sites offering free widgets and other resources. Their generosity is remarkable!
Hugs :)

It´s very true that we have to thank Google and Youtube and internet and all the people in cyberspace, but (I´m afraid I´m sounding like Roberto!)....our blog is the MOST BEAUTIFUL and for that we have to thank you.
We are also ORIGINAL in the combination of LITERATURE, CRITICAL THINKING, and LANGUAGE LEARNING, we´ve been the first to have done iit and it has proved a GREAT SUCCESS.
Doubt very much that people will continue with this in other schools, and that anybody will be inspired, look aroind and see. You do not have to go too far...."you know what I mean"( quote from Grease)

Have you looked in the reading club, this same section and at the new ideas? There is one that we like: creating a film club, but are you prepared to cooperate with the administration? The problem with me is that I don´t often go to the cinema, I know it is very bad but I always think it´s a waste of time. You´ll say how can you? You are right but...

Anónimo dijo...

I am anonimous above, when I am going to be a little better at this?

Anónimo dijo...

Well, Carmen, it's true it's hard. But there are chances... The world is full of violence - people spend far much more time being violent to others than enjoying what they love to do (we see the symptoms on TV, the mirror of our society!). But we can change the world teaching by example (Practice makes the master! :D ) Although I've been a pacifist for almost 30 years now, I need to control my own violence every day, so I know how present it is in our lives (in our language, attitudes, ways of "solving" conflicts, everything!). But because I do so, I also know how richer my life has become thanks to giving myself the chance to spend time doing the things I love! It's hard work, but then you DO find more time for interesting activities!!! And this leads you to meeting interesting people!!! And then, the more you develop your passions, the more your passions grow, and the better your life gets! And if you are able to do this throughout the years, your life improves so much more than if you never gave yourself that chance! (So yes, I wonder, why do people insist in spending most of their time doing violent things, or things which they positively hate? - and I don't mean the "unavoidable" things, but all the others!) Your life becomes something worth it to have lived!
So even though the world we have constructed does not encourage the development of the positive part our minds have, we still have it! And we can develop it! And because we're social animals, if people instead of paying attention to those who use violence (we have to be like that, because it's "natural"), paid attention to those who passionately work in what they love, then, I do believe, that COULD be great inspiration, and it would help people bring out the best in them, not the worst. (Incidentally, Why do people get together with people that bring out the worst in them and kick out of their lives the people who bring out the best in them is a REAL mystery, I must say!) That's why I've always worked enthusiastically in projects, even if they are hard work in many ways! :) And that's why I'm so happy to be in this Department, because we've been able to develop projects together, not only individually! I do get a kick out of teamwork! :D
Well, I don't know if I made my point clear, hahahah... When I start speaking I go on and on and on till I get lost! hahahah... Gotta go now! Sitting Time Expired!

Anónimo dijo...

Marta, if you like, post whatever messages and we can add those flowers, or others... I'll try to put some flowers on the left-hand column.

Anónimo dijo...

MArta, why do you say that? There are many good films which are true masterpieces, don´t you think? It is true that if you compare it with literature, films lose, but sometimes watching some films is worth!! On the other hand, TV is the worst...

Anónimo dijo...

Thanks for the flowers I think that now they´ll be there whatever we include! We must have something different for all seasons, don´t you think? María I couldn´t agree more but what can I do?? The only films I like are the classics, I don´t feel comfortable with the rough scenes that appear in the cinema, that doesn´t happen to me when I go to the theatre, in the cinema I am always ill at ease and anything disagreaable is horrible because the image stays. I like the subtlety of the theatre rather than the crudeness of the cinema. I agree though that some films are really good

Anónimo dijo...

It's amazing! I have that kind of problems with films too! I cannot watch those full of violence, and that means tons of them (even if they are critical with violence), and then, I cannot stand the fact that so many include rapes and the like. I cannot believe how that bombing that goes on with sexual abuse of women goes "unseen". (How can women stop being unconsciously afraid of exerting their freedom of movement if they are subjected to such bombing!) But I do love movies. I watch some at home, and I buy some, too. I like movies which speak about human beings, beyond their violence, I mean, about the beautiful intelligent noble things people are capable of! And then some comedies. I love comedies!

Anónimo dijo...

I love commedies too, I must be very superficial, but I think a laugh is a good thing. By the way I´ve been trying to contact you and couldn´t, there´s something wrong with telefónica. Maite´s phone number, the one I gave you is wrong either they gave me the wrong one or I took it down badly. The cards with the mishy of the theatre have arrived they are very nice too I am delighted! Can´t wait to hand them around!

Anónimo dijo...

I´ve handed out the cards. Great success. They are beautiful.
The only thing you can do with some people is "not mix with them", Michelle. There is somenthing in Nature, in the inherent self of a Human and this, though can be educated, so to say, keeps cropping up every now and then and causes pain to others. Sometimes I think that Fosco´s Brotherhood is not such a bad idea, after all.
There is a lot of violence in films. Why should we see this? Why do we have to have those scenes, Michelle? We do not have to see what is ugly all the time and presented so crudely and cruelly!!

Anónimo dijo...

Wonderful Cards Michelle, thank you very much for your hard work. I´m afraid we are much worse than you in "our" Film Club...
Carmen and Marta, there many films where violence scenes aren´t included. I don´t like violence in films either! You must go with us to the cinema to change your opinion about the seventh art! And if you are going to speak about films, do it in the proper "Club", ahahaah ;)

Anónimo dijo...

oops, a mistake (at least): "there are many films..."

Anónimo dijo...

Are you telling me the Theatre Club cards have arrived??????????? REALLY?????? I paid for 15 days, because it was cheaper than 7 days!!! But 15 days was meant to be on April 21!!!!!! OH GREAT!!! You know what, I'll see them too, because I ordered some more of both (REading/Theatre), with the "Inglés" included, but... I asked them to send them to MY adorable hoUUUUMMMM! :P (I also ordered some postcards I designed for Mujer Palabra, I'll show you when I'm back!)
I got Maite on that phone, Marta, I did. But she's in the mountain. She was surprised there was coverage there! But I got her! She'll be back at the end of the week and she's surrounded by people who love her, so they're taking good care of her! :)
Yes, Carmen, do our thing and just do our thing - that's the nicer way to be in life - doing what makes you happy, what gets the best out of you; mixing with those who make you happy, those who get the best out of you! For all I know, we can die tomorrow, and we should enjoy our time here, doing interesting things, getting along with people or simply doing our thing! Thanks. :)

Hello. This post is likeable, and your blog is very interesting, congratulations :-). I will add in my blogroll =). If possible gives a last there on my blog, it is about the Câmera Digital, I hope you enjoy. The address is http://camera-fotografica-digital.blogspot.com. A hug.

I wonder who camera digital is but thank you for your comment. We take down yours

What is the next play we´ll see??

Anónimo dijo...

I know I have to plan another before the end of term but with all these things I am completely out and I can´t think, next week I´ll plan the next outing

Anónimo dijo...

Hahahah, María, that's enthusiasm, but let me say something: we're working so hard on so many things that we cannot do it all, and organizing outings, which is something Marta has been doing for years (I guess on her own) is not as easy as one might think! :)
So, Marta, don't feel bad, please! hahahahah... (This is a Just-In-Case message, ok?) All this added work is taking you away of other things - of course: you are learning something new! We all know how much learning sucks away from us. But we cannot do it all at times, and that's OK. So please, don't get stressed out! We need our energy also for Exam Month! You've been organizing outings year after year, and tons of them, for everybody, and now you've needed time to do something else - learn to deal with blogs. I mean, that's business!
I'm going to disappear for a week from cyberspace, so I just uploaded the webpage I've drafted for the English Department. You'll find the web address on the Reading Club blog. That's where we can publish the essays, and that's where you can all have your little webpage to upload your activities, if you like. I've created a section for our favorite quotes from these blogs. The other sections are empty, but some have some Sample Stuff. I can delete, upload or change whatever you want.
So back to rest. See youp!

Adriana Ozores Lady Macbeth???? What a desapointment...!!!!I will go anyway, prejudices are not good for anything.

Anónimo dijo...

If you want, we could see together Lady Macbeth and The importance of being Ernest. Some of us were talking about the date and thought of going at the end of June, from 23 to 27. What´s your opinion??

Anónimo dijo...

The importance of being Ernest, en el Teatro Maravillas, está en www.atrapalo.com. Cuesta 15 € (12€ los miércoles). Hasta el 15 de junio.
Lady Macbeth, Matadero, está en www.telentrada.com. Cuesta 22€. Hasta el 6 de julio.

Anónimo dijo...

The importance of being Ernest will be until June 15th, we can go on Wednesday 11 th.
And Lady Macbeth Matadero, June 25 th is 16,50€.
What´s your opinion?

Anónimo dijo...

Hi! I could go to The importance... on 14th or 15th June, and as for Lady Macbeth, I agree. I´ll have finished my exams by then! We have to repeat the dinner, because it is a pity you had to leave us so soon. It is because that that dinners should be on fridays or saturdays.
Good luck in your Oral exams

Anónimo dijo...

Yes María. For some of us, dinners on Thursday are a little complicated. On Thursday, our bosses are still in our minds, all the time, looking at their watches and counting our rest hours. If the dinner had been on Friday we would have closed all the bars around :). But, anyway, we enjoyed a lot with the event, and it would be very pleasant that we could repeat it. The presents for our twins were very nice. Thanks for your effort.
Kisses
María Luisa 4ºc

Anónimo dijo...

It´s María. At least Paloma, Elena, Noemi, Susan and me go, maybe twin teachers, on 25th June, at 9 p.m. So Come with us! It may be our real farewell!!!

Anónimo dijo...

Anónimo dijo...

Buy the tickets yourself. The date is confirmed. I have already bought the tickets, ok?? See you there!

Anónimo dijo...

Anónimo dijo...

Maria Luisa, I'm buying the tickes for two of us.

Anónimo dijo...

Proposal. Until this blog works again, you could use the forum to arrange your meetings. Somebody has left a proposal for the summer.
The link to the forum is at the "Students' Webpage" on the Web del Departamento (link here on your left).

Anónimo dijo...

Thank you very much, Roberto, you are very kind. I’ll pay you the ticket that day. If you are agree, we will meet on the 25th at the theatre, a quarter of hour before the play beginning. Ok?
See you that day.

I see that this blog has been inactive since June: should we bring it to life again? Or we should post the suggestions I see have been posted here to other blogs? I wait for orders!
